TRUCK 63 RELOCATES EAST DURING COLLINGDALE DISASTER

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Around 1230pm, explosions rocked the Collingdale community. Scully Welding Co. was fast ablaze as propane tank after propane tank exploded in their rear storage yard. Three alarms and about an hour later, Truck 63 was dispatched to relocate Sta. 19, Lansdowne Fire Co. The truck staff with 5 personnel headed east and covered for about 5 hours before being sent back to Aston. The truck was not only covering Lansdowne but a good portion of the eastern end of Delaware County since so many units were committed to the fire. D/C Evans was OIC on the Truck.

During the cover, Engine 63 responded to a fire alarm on Commerce Dr. but was returned by 47 command due to a tripped alarm.
