EMSOF EQUIPMENT ARRIVES

Tuesday, July 27, 2010 The EMS Division once again participated in the EMSOF Program. EMSOF, which stands for "Emergency Medical Services Operating Fund" provides for 50% funding of itemized equipment for EMS organizations. QRS units, BLS and ALS services are eligible to participate in the program which receives funding from the surcharges placed on citations issued by police departments throughout the Commonwealth of PA. For this round of funding, Green Ridge put in a requisition for 2 AEDs and a new stokes basket stretcher. The new AEDs are LifePak 1000s which use the same pads as the paramedics heart monitor which save time once the medics arrive on scene. They can simply plug our pads into their heart monitor. With the 2 new AEDs, this will allow Green Ridge to have one on each fire apparatus as well as the Chief's buggy. The new stokes basket is a Ferno plastic breakaway model which splits in half for ease of storage. The new basket will be placed on Truck 63.

Thank you to the Delaware County Regional EMS Office for administering this funding program.
