Just after the evening rush the Township Rescue Assignment was struck for an accident with entrapment in the 5500 block of Pennell Rd. in front of the Aston Middletown Little League fields. Rescue, QRS, Engine and Command 63 responded. Chief 72 M. Keiser went on location and advised he needed one vehicle stabilized and had one patient needing extrication. R63 (DC M. Evans) arrived on scene and began stabilization and extrication. The patient was rapidly extricated without hydraulic tools and care was performed by Medic 72, Riddle EMS and Medic 100. Crews assisted with patient care and packaging while the crews from Engine, QRS and 72 secured the vehicles, all hazards and checked out the other patients. Chief 72 M. Keiser had the Pennell Rd. Command, Chief 63 B. Herre had Rescue Ops Sector and Medic 100 R. Micun had the EMS Sector. Units operated for just over 30 minutes before being released.
A few minutes after returning from the accident the RIT assignment was hit for the 1700 block of Bethel Rd in Bethel Twp. for a house fire on the rear deck. Rescue 63 (DC M. Evans) made the response with 7 but the fire was knocked down by the homeowner and the assignment was held to Co. 66
