Green Ridge Fire Company

4 FOR THE DAY INCLUDING A FIRST DUE GARAGE

Wednesday, March 17, 2010 St. Patrick's Day brought 4 calls to the station. The first was a RIT assist to the Toby Farms Elementary School in the late morning. The fire was quickly scaled down to 45 and 52. A little while later, the street assignment was dispatched to the area of Florence and Scarlet Aves. for the building fire. A/C Schmid (63-9C) arrived with medium smoke showing from a detached garage.  Further investigation revealed a resident burning off brush inside the garage in a wood burning stove. The assignment was held to Engine 63. Also on the ticket were Cos. 72, 47, 45, 65 and NCC RIT 13.  About an hour later, the township companies went to #2 New Rd. for the alarm system activation. As Truck 63 arrived, 72-9B reported the alarm tripped and we returned.  To close out the day, the township companies were again sent for an alarm system on Jennifer Lane. Chief Herre (63-9) arrived and reported a tripped alarm and returned the assignment per 72 command.
