FEBRUARY STARTS OFF WITH A BANG

Tuesday, February 2, 2010 The day turned out to be a busy one with 3 box alarms, 1 mva with entrapment and an AFA,  In the beginning of the day the rescue was dispatched to Brookhaven for the RIT assignment, Brookhaven command(52-9b) had a small heater fire and held with company 52. Two hours later the house fire assignment was dispatched to  the unit Blk. of W. Forestview Rd.  in Parkside Boro, Parkside Command(45-9a) had a light smoke condition inside and determined it to be a faulty oil burner from the residence next door. Just before 8pm the Rescue was dispatched to the 1700 block of Ashbrook Lane in Bethel Township for a house fire, Engine 55 arrived first and had smoke showing and up the assignment was upgraded to the working fire. Rescue 63 was the 4th piece to arrive on the scene and the two crews split and assisted the truck co with throwing ladders on all four sides of the dwelling while the entry team stood by the A/B corner with the equipment running. The crews were on scene for  an hour. Just as the snow began to fall, Rescue 63 responded to Lenni Road at Hillcrest lane for an MVA with an unconscious person. Medic 72 arrived first and had a single vehicle vs. a pole with the driver trapped inside, Rescue 63 arrived next and placed the tools in service to remove the drivers door. The crews operated for just under an hour, under  the command of D/C Lloyd(72-9a) While the rescue companies were on Lenni rd, the AFA assignment was dispatched to the 5100 blk of Pennell Rd, Engine 63 handled a P.O.S. and were available soon after.
